Changing Your Password

Keep your account secure by regularly updating your password or changing it if you suspect unauthorized access.

Changing Your Password (When Signed In)

If you know your current password and want to change it:

Step 1: Go to Settings

  1. Click your profile at the bottom of the sidebar
  2. Select User Settings

Step 2: Open the Password Tab

Click the Password & Login tab to access the password change options.

Step 3: Enter Password Information

  1. Find the Password section
  2. Enter your Current Password
  3. Enter your New Password
  4. Enter your new password again to Confirm

Step 4: Meet Password Requirements

Your new password must include:

  • At least 10 characters
  • Uppercase letters (A-Z)
  • Lowercase letters (a-z)
  • At least one number (0-9)
  • At least one special character (!@#$%^&*, etc.)

Step 5: Save

Click Update Password. You’ll see a success message when complete.

Note: You’ll remain signed in after changing your password. Other sessions may be signed out.

Resetting a Forgotten Password

If you can’t remember your password:

Step 1: Go to Forgot Password

  1. Go to the sign-in page
  2. Click Forgot password?
  3. Or go directly to the forgot password page

Step 2: Enter Your Email

  1. Enter the email address associated with your account
  2. Click Send Reset Link

Step 3: Check Your Email

  1. Look for an email from SnapGlyph
  2. Click the Reset Password link
  3. The link expires after 1 hour

Step 4: Create New Password

  1. Enter your new password
  2. Confirm your new password
  3. Click Reset Password

Step 5: Sign In

After resetting, you’ll be redirected to sign in with your new password.

Password Security Tips

Do’s

  • Use a unique password not used on other sites
  • Use a password manager to generate and store strong passwords
  • Change your password if you suspect it’s been compromised
  • Enable two-factor authentication for additional security

Don’ts

  • Don’t reuse passwords across multiple accounts
  • Don’t share your password with others
  • Don’t use easily guessable information (birthdays, names, etc.)
  • Don’t write passwords down where others can find them

What Makes a Strong Password?

Weak passwords (avoid these patterns):

  • password123
  • qwerty2024
  • MyName1990!

Strong passwords (examples of good patterns):

  • Random characters: K9#mP2$vL5@nQ8
  • Passphrase style: correct-horse-battery-staple-7!
  • Generated: Use a password manager’s generator

Troubleshooting

”Current password is incorrect”

  • Ensure Caps Lock is off
  • Check for extra spaces
  • If you truly forgot it, use the forgot password flow

Reset email not arriving

  • Check spam/junk folders
  • Verify you’re using the correct email
  • Wait a few minutes and try again
  • Contact support if issues persist
  • Links expire after 1 hour
  • Request a new reset link
  • Complete the reset promptly after receiving the email

Password not meeting requirements

  • Check all requirements are met
  • Ensure special characters are included
  • Try a longer password if border-line length

After Changing Your Password

  • Update any password managers with the new password
  • Sign in again on other devices if needed
  • Consider enabling 2FA if not already active
