Using the Free QR Code Builder
SnapGlyph offers a free QR code builder that anyone can use without signing up. It’s perfect for quickly generating QR codes for a variety of purposes.
Step 1: Go to the Builder
Navigate to the QR code builder at snapglyph.com/builder.
Step 2: Select Your QR Code Type
Choose the type of QR code you want to create:
- URL: Link to a website
- Text: Plain text message
- Email: Pre-filled email with address, subject, and body
- Phone: One-tap phone dialing
- SMS: Pre-filled text message
- WiFi: Auto-connect to a WiFi network
- vCard: Share contact information
Step 3: Enter Your Content
Enter the destination or content for your QR code based on the type you selected. For example, enter a URL for website links, or fill in the contact details for a vCard. The QR code preview will update automatically as you type.
Step 4: Customize Colors (Optional)
You can customize the appearance of your QR code:
- Foreground Color: Click the color picker to change the color of the QR code pattern (default is black)
- Background Color: Click the color picker to change the background color (default is white)
Tip: Ensure there’s enough contrast between the foreground and background colors for the QR code to scan reliably.
Step 5: Download Your QR Code
Click the Download PNG button to save your QR code image.
Free Builder Limitations
The free builder is great for quick, one-off QR codes, but has some limitations:
- Basic styling: Solid colors only (no gradients or patterns), no custom shapes, frames, or logo insertions
- PNG format only: No SVG export
- No saving: QR codes aren’t saved to an account
- No tracking: Cannot track scans or view analytics
